Dr. Kelly Bagnell, OB/GYN

I have other women who have tried to get pregnant and they’ve been unable to achieve that because of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which is one of the most common causes of female infertility. By having them lose at least 5 percent of their weight or 5 percent of their body mass (so 10 to 15 pounds) put them back into regular cycles and they achieve pregnancy. I’ve had this happen on numerous occasions and how glorious is that to have somebody get pregnant and deliver a child?

So that’s just changing their life in such a special way – that is very powerful and impactful. I’m just glad I can be a part of that for my patients.

It makes it easier to really discuss weight loss with these patients when they come in to see me and say I want to get pregnant.
