Blackened Shrimp And Asparagus
Smoky blackened shrimp and crisp asparagus come together in a bright, zesty dish bursting with bold flavor.
Allowed for Ideal Protein phases 1 to 3.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. Large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp. Chili Powder
- 2 tsp. Paprika
- 1 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tsp. Cumin
- ½ tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- ¼ tsp. Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp. Olive Oil, divided
- 1½ lbs. Asparagus, rinsed and trimmed
- ¼ cup Vegetable Stock
- 1 tbsp. Hot Sauce (Optional)
- 1 tbsp. Lemon Juice
- Lemon Slices, Red Chili Flakes, and Freshly Chopped Parsley (for garnish)

Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, combine chili powder, paprika, onion powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Step 2
Toss shrimp in the spice mix until fully coated.
Step 3
Heat ½ tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 4
Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Step 5
Add remaining ½ tbsp olive oil to the same skillet. Add asparagus and sauté 2–3 minutes.
Step 6
Pour in vegetable stock and cook another 2–3 minutes until asparagus is tender but crisp.
Step 7
Return shrimp to the skillet. Add lemon juice and hot sauce (if using). Toss gently to combine.
Step 8
Serve warm, garnished with lemon slices, red chili flakes, and fresh parsley.
