Mustard Chicken

A zesty and herbaceous chicken dish marinated in lemon and Dijon for a bold, tangy flavor punch.

Allowed for Ideal Protein phases 1 to 3.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cup Lemon Juice
  • ⅓ cup Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tsp. Dried Basil
  • 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
  • 2 tsp. Lemon Zest
  • Salt and Pepper, To Taste
  • 4 Skinless Chicken Breast Halves

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together lemon juice, Dijon mustard, basil, Italian seasoning, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.

Step 2

Place chicken breast halves in a shallow dish or ziplock bag. Pour marinade over the chicken, coating evenly.

Step 3

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).

Step 4

Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Remove chicken from marinade and cook for 5–7 minutes per side, or until chicken is golden.

Step 6

Let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Step 7

Garnish with extra lemon zest or herbs, if desired. Enjoy!
