Ginger Lime Chicken

Light, tangy, and irresistibly aromatic, this ginger lime chicken pairs bright lime with spicy ginger for a clean, flavorful meal.

Allowed for Ideal Protein phases 1 to 3.

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs. Chicken Breasts
  • ¼ cup Low-sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 tsp. Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp. Lime Zest
  • 1 tsp. Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1 pinch Chili Flakes (Extra for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Cilantro, Chopped (Optional, for garnish)

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, lime zest, ginger, and chili flakes to make the marinade.

Step 2

Place chicken breasts in a shallow dish or zip-top bag.

Step 3

Pour marinade over the chicken and let it sit for 15–20 minutes.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Add chicken and cook 5–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden.

Step 6

Pour any remaining marinade into the pan during the last 2 minutes of cooking to glaze the chicken.

Step 7

Remove from heat and garnish with extra chili flakes and fresh cilantro if desired. Enjoy!
